Position: Principal Consultant – Health Economics & Modelling
Location: UK (Remote / Hybrid)
About:
A leading global life sciences consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join its Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) modelling team.
The firm partners with biopharmaceutical to navigate complex regulatory and market access landscapes, supporting evidence generation, pricing, and reimbursement strategies across global markets.

Role Overview:
Act as a senior technical and commercial leader within the HEOR modelling team, responsible for delivering complex projects, building client relationships, and driving business growth.
Lead large-scale, multi-jurisdictional modelling engagements, provide methodological expertise, and contribute to strategic thought leadership.
Play a key role in proposal development, client account management, and mentoring junior team members, while ensuring high-quality project delivery and financial performance.
Requirements:
10–15+ years of experience in health economics modelling, ideally within a consulting environment
Deep expertise across HTA frameworks, global market access, and multiple therapeutic areas
Strong experience leading complex, multi-country HEOR modelling projects
Proven track record in business development and client relationship growth
Experience supporting HTA submissions (e.g., NICE, SMC, CADTH, G-BA, etc.)
Demonstrated thought leadership (publications, presentations, or industry contributions)
Strong network within the pharmaceutical and HTA community
Experience mentoring and managing junior consultants
Key Skills:
Advanced expertise in health economic modelling (e.g., Excel/VBA, R)
Strong understanding of HTA methodologies and evidence requirements
Ability to lead multiple projects and manage competing priorities
Solid commercial and financial acumen (project pricing, revenue, margins)
Experience leveraging innovative tools, including AI, within modelling workflows
Excellent client engagement, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Strong influencing and negotiation capabilities with senior stakeholders
Leadership mindset with the ability to coach and develop teams
Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus
Education:
Master’s degree in Health Economics, Economics, Life Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
PhD, MBA, or other advanced qualification is advantageous
